Dharamshala, May 25 – Major General R.S. Mehta, the Chief of Staff of Headquarters at Yol Cantt., Dharamshala, delivered a lecture on Personality Development and Scourge of AIDS at the College of Higher Tibetan Studies (CHTS), Sarah, on 23 May.
The talk was organised by the Department of Education (DOE), Central Tibetan Administration. It was attended by the Principal, staff and students of the CHTS, teachers participating in the DOE’s on-going teaching workshop at the CHTS, and Tibetan college students from various parts of India who have come to study Tibetan literature during their college break.
The Education Secretary Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok and the concerned officials also attended the lecture. Ven. Kalsang Damdul, Deputy Director of the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, was present at the occasion.
The General Officer described AIDS a scourge of today’s world and laid emphasis on knowledge being a vaccine for AIDS. He was accompanied by Col. V.V. Reddy and Col. N.P. Reddy. The lecture was concluded with question-answer session.
