Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh) – A Tibetan refugee women’s organisation has urged the Tibetan government-in-exile here to include women representatives in the ongoing Sino-Tibetan talks.
“Women representatives must be included in the Tibetan delegation holding dialogue with the Chinese,” said B. Tsering, chief of the Tibetan women association (TWA).
“TWA strongly endorses the middle way approach of the Dalai Lama to solve the Tibetan issue and so want to be a part of the ongoing Sino-Tibetan dialogue process,” she said here.
TWA is a Tibetan women’s NGO and Tsering has been recently chosen its president for the second time in a row.
“The TWA will launch an international campaign to pressure the Chinese leadership to allow the Dalai Lama to visit China,” Tsering said.
The Dalai Lama last month expressed his desire to visit Buddhist pilgrimage sites in China.
The Dalai Lama lives in India with some 100,000 Tibetan refugees. His Tibetan government-in-exile is based in Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh.
