Tibet House Foundation and the Tibetan Community in Spain commemorated the 47th Uprising Day in Barcelona, in front of the “Presidential Plaza, Sant Jaume”.
This year about 108 Town Halls hanged our Tibetan National Flag. About 350 people attended, Tibetans and supporters.
Barcelona Town Hall kindly arranged the stage, microphones, etc. There were full of Tibetan Flags, placards and Free Tibet balloons.
The gathering lasted for one hour and Ven. Thubten Wangchen, Director of Tibet House Foundation, read the official declaration of His Holiness Dalai Lama in Spanish language.
Also, Ven. Thubten Wangchen gave a speech on the current situation of Tibet which moved all the people’s emotion and sympathy toward the Tibetan Freedom.
Two Spanish well known singers also sang for the Free Tibet, and following that the Tibetans sang the “Long Shok” prayer of the “Word of Truth” and finally the Tibetan National Anthem.
