Kathmandu, March 13 – A meeting of the newly formed Tibetan Chamber of Commerce was held for the first time in the Nepalese capital city of Kathmandu. The meeting, according to a press release issued by the business body has invigorated ‘our believe in the need of and institutionalization of the Tibetan chamber’.
The chamber sees Kathmandu as an important business center within the Tibetan business community. Kathmandu was once the center of Tibetan carpet industry. The carpet industry succumbed due an international boycott over child labor. Many big names in the carpet industry are said to have migrated to the west.

“The encouraging participation and high degree of support has boosted our moral for further initiative. The interactions amongst the business entrepreneurs will guide us in shaping our future activities.”

The realization of the Tibetan chamber’s goals would depend upon the participation of the entrepreneurs and this meeting has proved to be a positive indication in that direction.
Tibetan chamber of commerce re-emphasized its gratitude for the blessings and the guidance of the His holiness The Dalai Lama.
