LTWA Director Concludes Mexico Visit Successfully

The Director of the Dharamsala-based Library of Tibetan Works and Archive, Ven. Lhakdor, concluded successfully his weeklong tour of Mexico on February 26. During his tour of Mexico, he visited Monterrey, the capital of industrial province of Nueva Leon, and Mexico City.

In Monterrey, Ven. Lhakdor participated in the three-day international conference on “Spirituality, Knowledge and Integral Health” which was held there from February 19 – 21. At the conference, Ven. Lhakdor gave a presentation on “Healing Through Silence and Contemplation”.

The conference was graced by many eminent speakers from the United States, Italy, Spain, Argentina, and Mexico. Among others, the speakers included writer Bernardo Kliksberg of Argentina, Dr. Carlos Dias of Spain, Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard University, Oncologist Pediatrician Dr. Javier Kane Quiros, Cardinal Norberto Rivera of Mexico, Dr. Lisa Jane Miller of Columbia University, author Dr. Luis Duch of Spain, and author Dean H. Hammer.

Apart from participating in the conference, Ven. Lhakdor also gave a lecture on “Wisdom and Compassion” at the University of Monterrey and led a seminar on “The Mind Training” at the Casa Tibet Monterrey.

Ven. Lhakdor also gave series of interviews to local television, radio and print media.

In Mexico City, Ven. Lhador led two important seminars, “Leading a Meaningful Life” and “Between Perspective and Reality: The Buddhist Philosophy of Middle-Path” hosted by Casa Tibet Mexico on February 24 and 25.

Ven. Lhakdor’s tour to Mexico was hosted by the Monterrey-based non-profit organization, ESTIMA, and Casa Tibet Mexico in collaboration with the Office of Tibet, New York.
