Mysore, December 4 – Tension prevailed following a city-based organisation staged a protest against the celebrations by Indo-Tibet Friendship organisation on the occasion of its first anniversary here today.
Police said five people were injured when police resorted to a lathi-charge after the situation turned violent.
Ten people were arrested in connection with the incident, they said.
That the Indo-Tibet Friendship organisation had organised a function to celebrate its first annivarsary. The activists of the Bhagat Singh organisation came to the venue of the function and staged a protest against the celebrations.
The police chased away the protestors and later cancelled the programme.
Additional police force was deployed as the tension prevailed in the area, they said.
