Dharamshala, November 2 – Just a day after three explosions rocked Delhi on the eve of Diwali last Friday, killing at least 60 people and injuring many, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has conveyed his condolence to the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, saying that he is “particularly distressed when such things happen in India”.

In his condolence message, His Holiness says, “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the dastardly, violent acts of terrorism that has exploded three bombs in different parts of Delhi.”

“Whenever acts of violence are committed and innocent people are killed it is always extremely unfortunate and sad. I am particularly distressed when such things happen in India.”

Expressing his solidarity with the people of India during these difficult times, His Holiness further says, “I have no doubt that India will overcome these senseless acts of violence aimed at killing people, damaging property and disrupting life.”
