Dharamshala, November 1 – The Central Tibetan Administration has urged all of its nearly 500 civil servants to voluntarily donate a day’s pay of their salary for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of the recent earthquake in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a communiqu issued last Friday, the Kalon Tripa and other three Kalons are expected to donate two days’ pay of their October salary for the quake relief as an expression of the solidarity.
After a similar appeal for Tsunami victims last January, the Kashag contributed over 400,000 rupees to the Indian Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
