Dharamshala October 31 – The organizers of the 2006 Amaravati Kalachakra announced the postponement of the Kalachakra by two days. The religious sermon will begin on 5 January instead of the scheduled 3 January 2006.
The creation of Kalachakra mandala and offerings will be from 5 to 7 January. The preliminary teachings will begin on 8 January and last till 10 January 2006.
The actual initiation of the Kalachakra 2006 will be from 13 to 15 January 2006. A long life offering to His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be held on 16 January.
Tekhang Namgyal Wangdue, a member of the Kalachakra organizing committee, has told the Voice of Tibet radio service that the change in the timetable was a result of a change in the schedule of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Namgyal also said that the devotees who have not registered their names with the organizers may have to crave for the back seats in the teaching pavilion. The last date for registration of devotees has been extended to 30 November 2005.
