A five day tour of an extraordinary combination of Jazz, Blues and World Music fusion ended last weekend. Eight musicains from seven different countries gathered in Berlin to try out this rare mixture of musical traditions in a perfect harmony.

The first idea came when the Tibetan singer Loten Namling met singer Pete Bender from United States at a Tibetan freedom concert in Berlin.

They agreed to create a multicutural musical project togther. Soon their effort was to be rewarded as they performed in some well known Jazz clubs of Berlin. The musicians, diverse in thier musical upbringing, performed a feat of musical delicacy. With great deal of curiousty and surprise, the audience enjoyed the concerts thoroughly, as some of the muscians actually met together for the first time. Even the songs didn’t exist before.

Loten Namling sang the lyrics of Melarepa and the Sixth Dalai Lama songs. For Loten, this is yet another chapter in his musical journey towards preserving Tibetan culture and highlighting the plight of his people. He calls this “Tibet Blues”.

The musicians came from Iran, Kurdistan, Tibet, Switzerland, America, Czech Republic and Germany.
