His Holiness Concludes Europe Tour

His Holiness the Dalai Lama left Germany this morning for New Delhi after successfully completing his three nation visit. According to the Voice of Tibet radio service, His Holiness the Dalai Lama met yesterday with the officials of the German parliament’s committees for human rights and foreign affairs. His Holiness also met with the members of German parliamentary group for Tibet.

The Tibetan leader also met with the Chairman of the German parliament and the leader of the opposition party of the German parliament. His Holiness discussed the recent developments in the process of dialogue with the People’s Republic of China and other important issues.

Later in the day, His Holiness gave an audience to district heads of 600 different municipalities of Germany which hoist the Tibetan national flag on March 10 (Tibetan national uprising day) every year.

His Holiness thanked the German Tibet support groups for their support to the Tibetan cause and reiterated his commitment to the middle way approach of resolving the issue of Tibet through dialogue. His Holiness also said that China is difficult to be convinced and that it looks to his efforts with suspicion. However, the German Tibet supporters have supported the truth by supporting the Tibetan cause, His Holiness added.

Meanwhile, the Kalon Tripa, who was addressing a press conference in Berlin, indicated towards a fourth visit to Tibet soon of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s delegation. Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche told the media that the third visit was the most fruitful of the three since the revival of ties with China after a decade – long standoff. He also said that the fourth visit surely will be more productive and discernible in terms of results.
