On March 27th 2005, the members of the RTYC NY & NJ elected its new executive board members. The new 8th session’s board members will serve for the next two years (2005-2007). The total of ten new board members were elected. The election process took place in the Kasturi Hall in Queens, NY. Ms. Dolma Choephel, former executive member of Centrex presided over as the Chief Election Commissioner and Mr. Kunga Thinley (President), Mr. Karma Tsering (Vice-President) and Mr. Ngawang Palden (General Secretary) of RTYC NY & NJ assisted the Chief Election Commissioner. The board members of the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association and the Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey were there to assist during the electoral process.
The list of the new executive board members of New York and New Jersey are, Mr. Tsongo Gyatso (President), Mr. Tenzin Kalden (Vice-President), Ms. Tenzin Dolma (General Secretary), Mr. Tsering Wangyal (Joint Secretary), Mr. Dorjee Tsering (Cultural Secretary), Ven. Sonam Wangdu (Secretary of Religious Affairs), Mr. Jamphel Tenzin (Sports Secretary), Ms. Pema Darpoling (Accountant), Mrs. Tsultrim Sangmo (Treasurer) and Ms. Dawa Dolma (Public Relations Officer).
