Tibet support Group in Agra holds seminar on Tibet

“After January 31, 1997, when 2 nd Tibetan Peace March from Wardha, Sevagram to Delhi was terminated on the way at Agra, since then, this is the first time we are able to organize a program solely dedicated to the issue of Tibet “ remarked by excited young Gyaneshwar, who successfully organized the event.

More than 180 people representing various social organizations in the city including intellectuals, Govt. servants, politicians and eminent figures have gathered for a seminar on “Tibet’s environment and Spiritual State; Role of India” at Budh Vihar, Chakkipat Assembly hall on 25 March, 2005.

The Seminar was presided over by Shri. Ramji Lal Suman, Former Union Minister and sitting M.P Lok Sabha as the chief guest and Shri.Vijay Kranti, National Co-convener of Core Group as special guest from Delhi. Other guest present were Dr. Rajeshwar Prasad, Director Institute of Social Science, Pandit Chandan Lal Prashar, the most respectable Pandit of Agra and expert in Sanskirt, Gyani Kashmira Singh, Head of the Agra Grudwara, Dr. Gyaneshwar Chaturvedi, Professor and renowned writer, Dr. Deen Dayalji, Superintendent of Archeology Department, Bhikshu Gyan Ratan, President of Budh Vihar Management Committee, Shri Keshav Dixit, Industrialist and BSP Coordinator, Master Mansingh Ex. M.L.A, Mrs. Manorma Sharma, Mr. Kartar Singh Bharti and Dr. Ashok Sharma.

Program started with offering of flower garlands to the portraits of Lord Buddha, H.H the Dalai Lama and Baba Sahib Ambedkar by all the guest and followed by a prayer by Bhante Gyan Raten.

Seminar had deliberation from many speakers. “ India and Tibet ‘s relation dates back to more than a thousand year. In this struggle, we all have to be together as it is in the best interest of preserving India’s spiritual and cultural heritage and national security” said Mr. Kartar Singh Bharti.

Master Mansingh, former M.L.A. is of the opinion that Govt. of India has done so many good things but at the same time has also committed blunder and present situation of Tibet is the outcome of that Himalyan Blunder, which also brought suffering to India as well.

“Now it is high time for the Tibetan particularly younger generation to work like a missionary to reach out to all parts of India and other countries to build mass movement for the restoration of freedom in Tibet” said Gyani Kashmira Singh.

Dr. Gyaneshwar Chaturvedi said “ the identity of the Lama spiritualism in Tibet is now becoming like endangered species like Shatoos ‘Tibetan Antelop” in Tibet. Religious freedom and monastic institution must be restored”.

In the words of Pandit Chandan Lal Prashar, he said “ Tibet is considered as Heaven, if Tibet is disturb there cannot be peace at all in the region as well as in the world. There is persistent interference by the Chinese authority in the spiritual and religious activities in Tibet, if this keep on continue the only existing abode of spiritual solace in world will be perished forever”. He also called upon the Government of India to impress upon PRC for the immediate halt of ongoing improper and inhuman activities by Chinese authority in Tibet.

In the keynote address Shri. Vijay Karanti gave a brief account of his experience during his last two visits to Tibet. He also talked about the strategic importance of Tibet and particularly building of railway line, which is going to cause major threat to the India’s security and integrity. He further informed the gathering about the negative and devastating affect of disturbing Tibet’s environment and its river system to the down stream regions in Asia in particular and world at large.

“Such type of gatherings and seminars should be organized in different parts of India, which will not only create awareness on the issue of Tibet but also will definitely help in gaining mass support for the cause” said Shri Ramji lal Suman. He also appeal to the Govt. of India to take an initiative in creating conducive atmosphere in the ongoing building contact between representative of Dalai Lama and Peoples’ Republic China, so that quicker resolution would be achieved.
