The world was shock for the Tsunami disaster which happened on December 26, 2004, just after the Christmas last year. More than 150,000 people lost their lives in just few minutes. A great leader of Tibetan Buddhism of Karma Kagyu school, His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche appeal all Buddhists to pray for people who lost their lives in Tsunami Disaster by join the special 49 days Puja.
Venerable Lama Tenam, the secretary of Tai Situ Rinpoche, told that: “on December 27, 2004, His Eminence Tai Situpa Rinpoche had advised Palpung Sherabling Monastery to arrange a special 49-days Puja for people who lost their lives in this Tsunami disasters and also request every Dharma Center as well as all Buddhists around world to join this special 49-days Puja. This time many people lost lives and effected seriously in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri lanka. Thailand, Maldeev and many other parts of the world. His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche sends his Prayers and blessing to everyone who lost their life and also many who are affected by Tsunami.”
Sunday, February 13th, was the 49th day since Tsunami was happened and it is very important day for those who lost life in that tragedy according to the Tibetan Buddhism. Leaded by His Eminence 12th Tai Situpa Rinpoche and joined by 12 incarnated Rinpoches of Sherabling, the Palpung Sherablimg Monastery had arranged the final dedication ceremony of the 49-days prayers. All lamas, monks, nuns of Sherabling and devotees from the world had joined this final dedication ceremony. Also ten thousand butter lamps were lighted on Sunday and will lighting continually one hundred thousand butter lamps for the coming days.
Venerable Lama Tenam conveyed Tai Situ Rinpoche that: During the lunar Tibetan New Year, we have yearned over the people who lost their lives in the Tsunami tragedy, we do prey for them and sincerely hope them could be off the deep tribulation. We prey all sentient beings could be off the tribulations and get the most happiness by the enlightenment.
According to Ven. Lama Tenam, the 49th day Prey Puja was last for whole day on Sunday and the final dedication ceremony was greatly success. By blessing of 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche and 12 incarnated Rinpoches of Sherabling and all Buddhists in the world, the 49-days Special Puja for the Tsunami Victims has been completed successfully.
