With the personal initiative of Mr. Baburao Potbhare and local organization called Sameyik Yuva Manch and Samajik Andolan Manch jointly organized a Tibet awareness meeting on Jan 13, 2005 at Sahil, Parbhini (Maharashtra).
The meeting had participants representing different organizations active in the region like Republican Party of India, Bahujan Samaj Party, Samyak Pradna Manch, Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh, Republic Bachao Manch, Sameyik Yuva Manch, Vanchit Vikas Sanstha, Samata Sainik Dal and Samajik Andolan Manch.
Mr. A. Nikose Core Group’s Central West Region Convener, while speaking in Marathi (Regional) language gave a brief introduction about Tibet past and present, and how it is related to nation’s security and growth with stability. Mr. Choekyong Wangchuk Coordinator India Tibet Coordination office, appealed for the need of mass mobilization for cause of Tibet. Mr. Vijayrao, political leader in the region suggested that a grand awareness program must be organized in the Marathawada region and he would give his best in the movement.
The meeting chaired by Mr. Baburao Potbhare unanimously decided to organize a huge public rally for Tibet in Maharashtra. It was also decided that a Tibet support Groups will be formed in the region and suitable name for the group and list of committee members shall be made public after having discussion with group existing in Ahmednagar
The meeting was followed by a press conference, attended by representatives of newspapers like Lokmat, Sakal, Tarun Bharat, Lok Patra, Puniya Nagri, Sanjh Vaartha, Sanjh Shakti in regional language, Lokmat Samachar, Citizen in Hindi, Aurangabad Times in Urdu and Lokmat Times in English. Regional Convenor A. Nikose and ITCO coordinator both addressed the press conference and distributed a copy of resolution of Aurangabad Tibet Support Groups’ Conference.
