Seminar & Lecture series in different colleges at Mysore

Indo Tibetan Friendship Society- Mysore in collaboration with India Tibet Coordinaton Office, New Delhi has organized Seminar & Lecture Series on “Human Right & India Tibet Relationship” in different Colleges in Mysore University.

The seminar was organized for five colleges as given below
16 Dec – SDM College for Women
17 Dec – Basudev Somani College
18 Dec – JSS Women’s College for Women
20 Dec – Mahajana Degree College

Shri Satish Singh a noted Lawyer who contributed articles on Human Rights to newspapers and periodicals regularly inaugurated the Seminar on 16th Dec at SDM College for Women.

Mr. Geoffrey Barton, Human Rights activist elucidated the Human Rights and its abuses in various parts of the World.

Group Captain H. Rajagopal President of ITFS – Mysore, with the help of Audio Visual Slides, explained the present Tibetan situation and its repercussions in India now and in the future. He felt that the building of broadgage railway line connecting the Gormo (China) to Lhasa (Tibet) has not any better use than transportation of heavy military epuipment and to flood the Indian market with cheap consumer goods through all the possible channels. Moreover he cautioned the youth that, by taking hold of Tibet, China could become a real threat for the security of India and other countries of South East Asian cunties.

Similar lecture programmes were organized in the other Colleges where Dr. Paul and Mrs. Agnees too participated.

On 20 Dec 04 the valedictory day, apart from the above speakers, Prof.Bollamma HOD, Political Science, Mahajana College introduced the subject of Human Rights to the students. Mr. P.K. Devaiah, Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause South Zone dealt on the aspects Indo Tibetan relations and the role of Tibetan Core Group in India.
In all, these lecture programmes benefited over 800 students.

The event has been widely covered by the local and national newspapers.
