New Kalpakkam, January 19 – Knowing that Kalon Tripa was in Chennai since 17th Jan. Varanasi Social Service President discussed with Aunty Aasha it will be more effective and inspiring for the volunteers if Kalon Tripa visits Tibetan Tsunami relief camp at New Kalpakkam. She answered she will speak to Rinpoche.

The sun is very sharp while we were rebuilding temporary house for the victims. As per advice by Mr.Paramswam,President SMILE. We used Using empty cement bags and filled them with sand. These bags are used as walls of the house. All the volunteers are exhausted and tired as they work in hot sun. The whole scene changed when a call from Aunty. She says “Rinpoche consented to visit the victim camp”. These words re-energies us and we continue working till dawn.

Today is very special day for us as we had privileged to get audience of Rinpoche when he visits our camp. He arrived at 7.00 am. The leader of the team Tashi greeted him with Tibetan traditional white scarf . He was introduced to situation before and after Tsunami. With great concern for the victims Kalon inquired about the different aspects of this natural disasters. As he step near our tent the children of the village invited him by singing the song “WE SHALL OVER COME”.

After that we had a morning tea with kalon Rinpoche. While having tea he inquest Tashi whether there is difference before and after your relief work.? He also spoke to other volunteers. Taking this opportunity we request him to water the saplings, which we planted two days before.
When he was about to leave the villager offered him tender coconut water with joy. Because of his busy schedule he had to leave by 8.00am. This is a memorable for all of us to pay contribution on this relief work. After he left we continued our relief work as before.

We thank all the well-wishers for their comments on our relief work. We appreciate your contribution in any means to the victims. We sincerely thank Aunty Aasha for arranging Rinpoche’s visits to our camp. We thank M.C.C.{TSAM Members} for extending their stay with us in relief work. days

Our special thank goes to MR.Rinzin Dorjee {President TSAM} for his kind assistance and support
