US Senate make its first move!

Did the world forget Dalai Lama and Tibet? India recently tried to bridge relations with China. Some say this was done at the cost of Tibet. India gained Sikkim and China gained Tibet. Chinese Government has continued to make Dalai Lama look like a helpless international joker. America today stands tall in asking China to release Tibetan political prisoners, including a popular monk who was sentenced to death. Of course China has refused the same. But fact of the matter is Tibet demand respect and glory.

Rejected as “irresponsible” a recent US Senate resolution asking it to release Tibetan political prisoners, including a popular monk who was sentenced to death. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhang Qiyue said that according to Chinese judiciary department, the monk Teazin Delek, also called Angag Tashi, is not a Tibetan political criminal, but the main perpetrator of an explosion on April 3, 2003, in Chengdu, capital of southwest Sichuan province. A Chinese court handed out a death sentence to 54-year-old Delek with a two-year reprieve for “inciting the split of the country and scheming explosions”, Zhang said, adding that this sentence was passed according to law by Chinese judiciary department. Zhang said the US Senate publicly voiced a grievance for these “criminals” and made “irresponsible remarks” on China’s punishment of criminals. “It is confounding black and white and is absolutely groundless,” she was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency.
