Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Minnesota is organizing a bus ride from Minnesota to New York with support from Tibetan American Foundation and Tibetan Women Association. About 45 people from all walks of life will begin their ride on Thursday December 9 and will head straight to United Nation Compound upon arrival on 10th Dec. to stage a massive demonstration along with the New York Tibetan communities and supporters of Tibet to call upon the immediate release of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche and all other political prisoners. We are also hopeful in educating and influencing the Non-Tibetan to support and help us in our fight for just cause on our every stop during the ride.
We recently concluded a signature campaign that was mailed to UN Sec. General Kofi Annan and his assistant Caroly Mcaskie requesting them to fulfill the assurances given to the three hunger strikers in New York as soon as possible.
Today, on Dec 1 we faxed urgent petition to President George Bush, Collin Powell, Senator John Kerry, Senator Edward kennedy,Senator Mark Dayton, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, US permanent Rep. to UN, John D negroponte, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan etc. for their kind consideration and requested immediate action regarding tulku Tenzin Delek case.
In a day or two, we are also visiting Minnesota Governor, Attorney General’ office to personally express and deliver the petition. We will also deliver petition to all the members of senate and house of representative before their session and urging them to do the needful and discuss the issue of Tibet and Tenzin Delek Rinpoche if possible.
Let’s all stand up and fight for our just cause. Together we can and we will make a difference.
