Tibetan singers, Chemey Youdon and Techung, and Japanese- Tibetan musician Toshi Kugo’s Japan tour is receiving warm welcome from Japanese audiences.

Their first concert was at Joushin Temple in Nagoya, followed by a sold out concert in Tenzin Yume auditorium in Fukuoka city on November 1, 2004. They performed at the Buddhist Chikushi Jogakuin Girls High School which has 1,200 students. Although some of the Japanese may be familiar with Tibetan music, for many it was their first opportunity to hear traditional Tibetan music and hear about Tibet. They expressed a sense of kinship to Tibetan music and culture and gave the artists standing ovation and flowers.

The concert organizers have been openly explaining to the audience the political situation of the Tibetan people.

Sergi Metok tour is now heading to Tokyo and Kyoto.
