Oslo, August 27 – The Norwegian Human rights have moved to new location with more new member organizations. Norwegian Prime Minster Mr Bondevik inaugurated the new Human Rights 26th August 2004. Today the Human Rights house consists of nine organisations including Amnesty Norway.
The location of the house is nearby the Norwegian parliament, Norwegian Government and the town hall; it was even remarked by the Prime Minister in his opening speech that we now lay very strategically near the authorities.
Mrs. Chungdak Koren handed the latest report from the ICT. on religious freedom. It was a very appropriate moment because the Prime Minister in his speech emphasized the importance of the religious freedom.
The Norwegian Tibet Committee has been one of the founding organisations of the Human Rights House in Norway. It was founded in 1989.
During the inauguration reception the Norwegian Tibet Committee members had the chance to talk to the Prime Minister about Tibet.
The different ministries and institutes attended the opening. The first Secretary of the Indian Embassy and the Chairman of the Norwegian Parliamentary group for Tibet was invited by the Norwegian Tibet Committee and both of them attended the opening and paid a visit to the new office of Tibet Committee.
There were many medias present during the opening and telecasted at the Prime Time News.
“It was very encouraging to see the work of the Tibet Committee and the establishment it has achieved in the network with the other organisations” said Mr. Thupten Tenzin- a Tibetan living in Norway.
