Chopel elected Tibetan NDP president

A prominent Tibetan political party has elected its new president in Dharamsala, the seat of Tibetan’s parliament-in-exile. In the fourth annual convention, National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT) chose Karma Chopel, founder member of the party.

Chinese authorities have released two popular Tibetan musicians two months after detaining them, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reports. Relatives of Namkha, a Tibetan singer, and Bokocha, a monk and composer, have said the men weren’t mistreated in custody.
