New Delhi, April 29 – Today at 10am, RTYC Delhi held a rally from Jantar Mantar to Parlaiment Street. Around 60 members mostly students from Delhi university inspite of their ongoing annual university exams participated in the rally to show support for the ongoing indefinite hunger strike at the United Nations, NY and to commemorate Pawo Thupten Ngodup who had sacrificed his life for the cause of Tibet by immolating himself six years ago at Jantar Mantar.
After the rally they sat for a token hunger strike till 4 pm bearing Delhi’s scorching heat without even a drop of water.
Many curious by-passers were made aware of the ongoing hunger strike in NY and the Tibetan struggle.
They held a Candle light vigil followed by a prayer ceremony for the well being of the hunger strikers (NY) and to commemorate the sacrifice made by Pawo Thupten Ngodup with a minute silence.
