After the conclusion of second day Kalachakra empowerment by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, some 1000 Tibetans awaited for Prof Samdhong Rinpoche’s talk on ‘Policy & Situation of Exile Tibetan Government’ at the National Trade Center in Toronto.
The talk was earlier arranged in the presentation room of the National Trade Center. As many Tibetans started attending the talk prior to Samdhong Rinpoche’s arrival, the organisers changed the venue to the Kalachakra area.

He clarified that his administrations never said to stop staging demonstrations, yet it should be peaceful and non-violence. He said that burning Chinese flags and effigy of Chinese tops politicians are merely harming their nation that doesnot bring any concrete results for Tibet.
“Violent protest against Chinese officials visiting abroad will only make them more serious, thereby tightening the Chinese rule in Tibet,” Rinpoche said while urging Tibetans to organise peaceful demonstrations in accordance with the policy of Tibetan goverment in exile.
He also said that Tibetan government’s policy of genuine autonomy will never change.
“Those who are speaking against the middle way approach are only serving their lip service, which are without any proper foundation.”
He also talked about the importance of preserving Tibetan culture while living in western countries and warned that new generation Tibetans in West may fully become unaware of Tibetan tradition and language. He assured Canadian Tibetans that Tibetan government will organise seminars, workshops in India for young Tibetans living in the West and urged Tibetans in the West to set up Tibetan culture classes on Sundays and spare time like morning or evening.
A Tibetan who introduced himself president of Canadian Tibetan Parent Association appreciated Rinpoche for his strong interest of preserving Tibetan culture in the West.
Professor Samdhong Rinpoche also said that Tibetan goverment are in the process of changing the booklet of Green Book and any Tibetans anywhere in the world can contribute their annual contribution for Tibetan Freedom Movement online.
He said that paying green book contribution means that he or she believes in exile government’s policy and urged all Tibetans living the West to pay their green book annual contribution for Tibetan freedom movement.
