Bylakuppe, January 5 – One of the major reason for holding the Tibetan Youth Leadership Training at the Tibetan settlement of Bylakuppe was to provide an opportunity to the participants coming from different places and backgrounds, a first hand experience of seeing and understanding the livelihood of the Tibetans living in settlements. And moreover Bylakuppe being the largest, most populated and more advanced of the Tibetan settlements in India, it was a perfect setup for the future leaders of Tibet to appreciate the conditions under which the first exiled Tibetans survived and flourished into the present day futuristic community.

Bylakuppe boasts of instituting some of the holiest and most prestigious Monasteries and traditional learning centres in India. The participants today, on the fourth day of the workshop were taken on a once in a lifetime day-long education trip to all the monasteries and major offices, institutions, and establishments of the area. Everywhere the participants went, they were received with equal love and respect, which distinctly corroborated the common Tibetan peoples’ support and goodwill towards the unflinching aim of Complete Independence for Tibet of the Tibetan Youth Congress. Bylakuppe has lots to offer to the Tibetan youth. With unemployment rising to a dangerous level in our community, the small entrepreneurs and self employed business men here in Bylakuppe offered a pragmatic example to the participants to shift from the conventional working system to other alternatives based on new and competent ideas.

The Tibetan Youth Congress has been the main vehicle for educating young Tibetans about preservation and development of Tibetan religion, culture, tradition, arts and bringing about a unique development for future Tibet. Today’s tour of the participants of the Tibetan Youth Leadership Training celebrated this momentous effort of the Tibetan Youth Congress.
