The Tibet Awareness program organized by the Tibetan Youth Congress started here in Dhaward on 24th November in one of the oldest universities in the Karnataka State and already celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the University.
Awareness Program was held in the Karnataka Dharwad University in the Senate Hall at 13.00. The program was started out by the documentary film show of: Tibet the Cry of Snow Lion which went for 30 minutes and it followed by the introduction of the “Awareness Program” detailing the issues such as Militarization in Tibet, Border problems, Railway project and its impact, diversion of Brahmaputra and Mount Kailash. The speakers for the talk were Mr. Anil Patel, the Mayor of the Hubli Dharward District and Dr. M.S. Kattamani, President of the Indo Tibetan Friendship Association, Mundgod. Both the speakers highlighted the issue of Tibet and the relevance of it to India in general. Both of them reassured their support towards the Tibetan struggle.
It was concluded saying that the issue of Tibet is not only issue of the survival of Tibetans alone. It is directly related with the Security of Asia in general and India in particular.
