November 18 – The new office of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey was inaugurated on November 16, 2003. Mr. Tsewang Phuntsok, ex-President of the CENTREX; Liaison Officer of South America, was invited as the Chief guest of the function.
Mr. Ngawang Palden, General Secretary of the RTYC NY&NJ greeted and welcomed the guests in the function. Mr. Kunga Thinley, President of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey greeted the guest with his welcome speech. He described about the objective and the role that the new office is going to perform. Mr. Kunga Thinley said that the new office would act as a platform to discuss and organize agendas to initiate activities for Free Tibet. Mr. Karma Khedup, President of the Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey (TCNY&NJ), wished success to the executive members of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey. Mrs. Tenzin Bhuti, President of Tibetan Women’s Association of New York and New Jersey (TWANY&NJ) wished and thanked the RTYC NY&NJ for inviting TWA during the inauguration function.
The Chief guest of the function Mr. Tsewang Phuntsok, ex-president of the CENTREX; Liaison Officer of South America reminded the present executive members of RTYC NY&NJ about the functions and the organization of the TYC. He urged the members to organize and perform versatility in their functions rather to stick with the stereotyped routine.
Those who were also present in the function were the ex-executive members of CENTREX; executive members of the TCNY&NJ; executive members of the TWANJ&NJ and the ex-executive members of the RTYCNY&NJ.
