The Tibetan National Football Team visits Århus during the Århus Festival week. On September 3 at five o’clock in the afternoon the team will meet the Hummel All Star Team at Risvangen Stadion in Århus.

The man behind the Tibet team is a KaosPilot. The Danish KaosPilot Michael Nybrandt from Team Five is the driving force behind the Tibetan National Football Team. In 1997, he had a dream: He wanted to see a Tibetan National Football Team, nothing less, nothing more! So, Michael Nybrandt set forth to make his dream come true. Against all odds and through a lot of resistance and numerous challenges today the Tibetan National Football Team has become reality.

The team works. It lives and has its base in Dharamsala in India. It has already played various matches, the first of which took place in 2001 at Vanløse Idrætspark close to Copenhagen against another nation not exactly known for football, – Greenland.

In the spring of 2003, the film “Det forbudte hold – Historien om et fodboldlandshold uden land” (The Forbidden Team – The Story of The National Football Team without Country) had its Danish World premier in Copenhagen. It is a documentary following the creation of the team from selection of players in the Tibetan refugee camps in Nepal, to high politics and the troubles of getting visa for stateless football refugees. Many forces never wanted to see a Tibetan national football and made great efforts to stop the dream come true.

Now in Århus you have the great opportunity to see a dream come true.
