Zurich, May 17 – Not a fairy tale – More than 150 Tibetans and supporters including 60 children listened to Miss Trudi Gerster, the most famous Swiss fairy tale storyteller in front of the Chinese Consulate Zurich.
Miss Gerster told the audience
the sad but true story of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima the 11th Panchen Lama.
The rally was organised by the Tibetan Youth Association in Europe (TYAE) and the Tibetan Womens Association in Switzerland (TWAS). “We wanted to involve as many Tibetan and Swiss children as possible to protest for the liberation of the Panchen Lama because he is in their age too and therefore it is extremely important that the children show their solidarty with Gendun Choeky Nyima.”, said Chompel Balok, TYAE spokesperson.
Ms Pia Hollenstein, Member of the Swiss Parliament and member of the Swiss Parlamenterian Group for Tibet demanded in her speech the Swiss Government to campaign for an international delegation to get access to Gedhun Choekyi Nyima and his parents.
