Vigil for Panchen Lama’s immediate release held in London

London, 17 May – Tibetans and their supporters held a two hour long vigil in London outside the Chinese embassy demanding the immediately release of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, Panchen Lama. Ten years ago, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima disappointment and there has been no word of the Panchen Lama and his family.

At the time he was detained by the Chinese authorities, he was the youngest political prisoner held by the Chinese government.

About 40 Tibetans and Tibet supporters from Free Tibet Campaign, Students for Free Tibet and Tibetan Community in Britain chanted “Free Panchen Lama” and recited Tibetan prayers. This was part of worldwide vigil organised by the International Tibet Support Network.
