Delegation of French Senate Visit Dharamsala

Dharamsala, April 27 – A delegation of French senate, the upper chamber of National Assembly, has reached Dharamsala on 26 April.

The delegation yesterday called on Ms. Dolma Gyari, vice chairperson of the Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies and Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, and visited the Norbulingka Institute, the Tibet Museum and the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts.

The delegation will today visit the Reception Centre for new refugees from Tibet, the Tibetan Children’s Village and Dip Tsechokling monastery, and meet Tibetan NGO’s including Tibetan Youth Congress, Tibetan Women’s Association, Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, National Democratic Party of Tibet and Gu-Chu-Sum.

Ms. Dolma Gyari will accompany the delegation on a visit tomorrow to the Bir Tibetan Settlement.

On 29 April, the delegation will call on His Holiness the Dalai Lama and later hold a press conference at the Department of Information and International Relations.

Members of the delegation are: Mr. Louis de Broissia, Senator; Mr. Jean Pierre Plancade, Senator; Mr. Philippe Nogrix, Senator; Mr. Jean Francois Humbert, Senator; Mrs. Elisabeth Lamure, Senator; Mrs. Agnes Humbert, spouse of the Senator Jean Francois Humber; Mr. Vincent Poux, Administrator; and Mr. Wangpo Bashi, secretary of the Bureau du Tibet, Paris.
