Coinciding with the commemoration of International Human Rights day, Antarashtrya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti headed by Shri Mr Kulbushan Bakshi, who is also National Co Convener of Core Group, organised grand ceremony at Devnagari Inter College in Meerut to honour all the students who won the prizes in Tibet related Quiz, Essay writing and Painting Competition.
As an implementation of the succesive resolution passed by Core Group to create mass awareness amongst Indian students on the issue of Tibet. For the last six months, with the assistance of India Tibet Coordination Office, Antarashtrya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti has been organising various Tibet related competition in four districts of Western U.P. covering more than seventy two intermediate colleges.
These various competitions had around five thousand participants and seven hundred students of (Ist IInd IIIrd) categories won the prizes in their respective categories of competition.
The function had a congregation of more than 500 people comprises of school principles, teachers, prize winner students and their parents, and large number of local eminent people. The chief guest Kalon Tripa Prof. S. Rinpoche give away the trophies and certificates to the prize winners. He extended his appreciation for such activities and thank to the participants.
Dr Agnihotri National Co convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause and National Convener of Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch spoke in length on the India Tibet Relationship. He also emphasised the importance of Non Violence and Middle Way approach of the Tibetan peoples struggle.
Other eminent speakers of the day were Mr Hari Om, Principle of D.I.C College,
Dr. Shakti Shali, Dr Jay Prakash and Padmashree Shyam Singh Shastri who has written book on Tibet called ‘Nomad’s life.’
The speeches were followed by the release of a book titled ‘ Tibbat aur Tibbat ke log’ in Hindi being published by India Tibet Coordination Office.
