Dharamsala, December 9 – The Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association will organise the 10th Himalayan Festival tomorrow to commemorate the Human Rights Day in the main temple of the Dalai Lama.

Stating this here today, the ”spokesman of the Tibetan Government in Exile” said that human rights violations committed allegedly by the Chinese Government in Tibet would be highlighted on the occasion and world community would be asked to intervene to stop human rights abuse in Tibet.

On the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to be observed tomorrow, the Tibetan Regional Youth Congress said in a statement here that ”violation of Human Rights in Tibet was painful and condemnable”.

The statement added that more than a decade after the formation of the United Nations Commission for Human Rights and the solemn commitments of the Vienna Declaration, human rights remains formal rather than real in Tibet.

Meanwhile, the Tibetans continued their hunger-strike for the 16th day today at Mcleodganj, demanding unconditional release of Tulku Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.
