In the afternoon Dr. N.K. Trikha, a renowned journalist and the convener of the Core Group made his gracious presence felt to the hunger strikers to express his deep solidarity for our cause. While addressing the people he expressed his deep concern for the Tulku’s life and appealed the international communities to pressurize Chinese authorities for the immediate and unconditional release of Tulku Tenzin Delek from the Chinese prison. He further added that the present unfavorable circumstances should not discourage Tibetans as India gained its independence after 200 grueling years from an empire so vast that sun never sets there. Finally he appreciated the contributions of Tibetan Youth Congress and reaffirmed that as long as TYC exists, Tibet’s struggle for independence will remain.

The candle light vigil in the evening marked the end of the second day of the five-day hunger strike in Delhi.
