ELISTA November 15 – The leader of the Buddhist community of Russia’s Kalmykia region said on Monday that he would “give a 99.9% guarantee” that the Dalai Lama will visit Kalmykia late this month.
Telo Tulku Rinpoche, president of the Kalmyk Buddhist Association, told a news conference in Elista that the Dalai Lama and an accompanying delegation are awaiting Russian visas.
“By the end of the week, when we have received the visa, we will be able to speak [about his visit] with 100% confidence,” Rinpoche said.
