Brussels, October 9-10 – Tibetan community in Belgium and Tibet Support Group Belgium “Les Amis du Tibet” have organized a vigil for Tibet from Saturday October 9th noon until Sunday 4 pm.

For that occasion, they have placed a Tibetan tent right in front of the Chinese embassy in Brussels. Tibetans and Belgians stayed up in the tent for 28 hours, even during the cold night, to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the invasion of Tibet by Chinese army on October 7th 1950. It was also the occasion to talk about Tenzin Delek Rimpoche.

On Sunday, at 4 pm, about 150 people gathered to end this event and held Tibetan prayers, shout slogans and sang the Tibetan national anthem. Senator, Mister Pierre Galand, joined us to conclude this action.”
