Conference on India Tibet Relationship held in Bangalore

Under the banner of Core Group for Tibetan Cause, Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society (ITFS) Bylakuppe and Bangalore in collaboration with India Tibet Coordination Office, Delhi organized two days conference on ‘India Tibet Relationship’ on 24th & 25th September 2004 in Bangalore (Karnataka State).

More than 60 members from 10 different regions including executive members of all the ITFS and representatives of Tibet Support Groups in the region participated on the first day of the conference. Each chapter present their brief reports of activities carried out in their region and discussed future programs, where urgent action plan of intensive campaign to reach out Indian youth and students for Tibet was unanimously adopted.

Around 200 people gathered for the second day of the Conference. Mr P.G.R. Sindhia Hon, Minister for Industries, Govt of Karnataka was the Chief Guest. He stressed ITFS executive members to organized more such conferences and said that the legislators concerned should take up the matter in the next session of the State Assembly. The minister also expressed his confidence that the Tibetan people would achieve their goal of getting back to their motherland with freedom and dignity.

While praising His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s contribution to the world peace, Mr Sindhia said that His Holiness is internationally recognized spiritual leader and he has been inspired him. He also volunteered to form MLA Tibet Support Group in the region.

Other prominent speakers of the day were Mr PK Devaiah President of ITFS Bylakuppe, Mr Ngodup Dorje la South Zone Chief Representative, who introduced structure of Tibetan Govt. in Exile and Dr Dorje spoke about Tibetan Medicine.
