Dharamsala, September 13 – In the latest development in the Tibetan judicial system, Mr. Namgyal Tsering, one of the two Justice Commissioners of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, will succeed Mr. Jhadur Sangpo as the new Supreme Justice Commissioner. Mr. Anyertsang Thupten Tashi, Secretary of Department of Religion and Culture, has been appointed the new Justice Commissioner.
As laid down in the Charter of the exile Tibetans, the Supreme Justice Commissioner, Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson of the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies, and the Kalon Tripa shall install a five member committee which shall submit a list of nominees for the posts of Supreme Justice Commissioner and the Justice Commissioners to His Holiness the Dalai Lama who shall propose a candidate to the assembly for approval.
