On April 25th in Paris, Tibetan Community of France organised a demonstration with several French TSGs “France-Tibet”, “Etudiant pour un Tibet libre” for the release of the Panchen Lama who has been recognised as 11th Panchen Lama by His Holiness the Dalai Lama accordingly to the Tibetan traditional Buddhist procedure on 14 may 1995, but after a few days China took the young boy as political hostage with his parents in order to legitimate its colonial rule on Tibet by using a innocent boy as political instrument.

Around 250 people participated in the demonstration which was held at the feet of the Eiffel Tour in heart of the French Capital Paris.

The President of “Tibetan community of France and its friends”, Mr. Thupten Gyatso explained to the public that purpose of the gathering was to demand the Chinese authority to immediately free the 11th reincarnation of Panchen Lama on the basis of the international convention on child’s rights. Further, he added that China must stop its arbitrary execution of Tibetan people, especially in case of a well known social worker Veneral Tenzin Delek Rinpoche who has been sentenced to the death. We ask on the Chinese leadership to withdraw the death penalty which is unfounded neither legally nor from the reality of the fact because it is a politically motivated fictive crime which he didn’t commit.

Tenzin Delek Rinpoche should go through a free, fair public trial under the observation of the international jurists.

The Day was also marked by TYC’s hunger Strikers in New York in front of the United Nations headquarter since more three weeks.

President of “Tibetan Community” Thupten Gyatso expressed on behalf of all the Tibetan in France his full support to the movement and his deep sincere solidarity to the beloved hunger strikers: Gyatso La, Dolma Choephel La, and Sonam Wangdu La for their selfless sacrifice on the Tibetan freedom.

Tibetan Community of France with TSGs have decided to stage a local level hunger strike from 1 may until 16 may in support of TYC hunger strikers in New York.

Protestors marched towards UNESCO official building where a delegation handled an official letter to the general director of the UNESCO.

The demonstration concluded with Tibetan National anthem.
