Oslo, Norway March 10 – Tibetans and Tibet supporters marks the 45 anniversary of the Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule that took place on 10th March 1959 in Lhasa during which thousands of Tibetans were killed. This 10-march demonstration in Oslo was organized by Norwegian Tibet Committee and Students for free Tibet Norway.
The demonstrators gathered in the main square of Oslo and March toward the Norwegian Parliament with Tibetans flag and 100 meters of banner. At the Norwegian Parliament Square, Miss Dechen Pelmo from SFT Norway read 10 March statement of H.H. Dalai Lama in Norwegian followed by appeal from president of Gu-Cho-sum Ven Yeshi Togden invited to by Norwegian Tibet Committee. From the parliament square, rally went to the Chinese Embassy. Once the rally reach Embassy compound as usual the Chinese Embassy closed their iron gate and set on their video camera.
“Despite of very cold weather and also 10 march, today is on a working day, many have come which is very inspiring for us and also Go-Tso-Som President Ven.Yeshi Togden leading the rally was very much appreciated said Miss Tsomo Gyachungtsang, Leader of Norwegian Tibet Committee.”
