The IV National Youth Assembly of the Intercontinental Youth Camp-2004 was held at Shillong from 10-11 November 2003. The Youth Assemblies were previously held at Nagpur, Mumbai and Chandigarh with participation from various youth groups to plan for the IYC-2004, which will run concurrently to the World Social Forum-2004 at Mumbai from 16-21 January 2004.
During the assembly, TYC representatives presented a report on Tibet and placed a photo exhibition. It also distributed pamphlets and books on Tibet, where most of the participants were from the North-East Youth groups. TYC Vice-President and executive members of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress Shillong attended the two days National Youth Assembly.
The IYC-2004 is going to be a space for youth to reaffirm their resistance to social, economic, cultural, physical and political discrimination on a theme ‘Ánother World is Possible’.
