The Dalai Lama is set to visit Florida International University next September — making his second appearance at the school in five years.

Tenzin Gyatso, the Tibetan spiritual leader who fled Chinese repression and is in exile in India, first visited FIU in 1999 when he was awarded an honorary doctorate in divinity.

Known to promote peace and unity, the Dalai Lama will lecture among students and faculty.

Although FIU officials haven’t released the date of his visit, school officials say the event will be open to the public. Tickets will go on sale next summer.
