Delhi, October 29 – It was a moment of elation for the five young Tibetans who had the rare opportunity to interact with Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales who is currently on a nine-day tour of India.

Prince Charles was in the Samyeling Tibetan colony of Majnu Ka Tilla to meet the first five Tibetan youth entrepreneurs to join the global network of The Prince’s Trust through Youth Business Trust Asia, a project funded by The Tibet Relief Fund of the UK.

At a modest function amid tight security, the five youths highlighted their creative talents before the Prince.

The Prince showed a keen interest in the works of the five Tibetans who have explored their talents and entrepreneurial skills to benefit their displaced Tibetan community.

A cultural performance by the students of the Tibetan school of Samyeling was presented to welcome the Prince of Wales. The event also had some light moments as a Tibetan comedian made the Prince giggle loudly.

The five youths could not express how privileged they were to have been honoured as young entrepreneurs by the Prince’s Trust.

Talking to this reporter, Lobsang Wangyal, the producer of the first Miss Tibet pageant and Tibetan Music Awards, said such recognition of efforts will boost other youngsters to utilize their skills for the betterment of the Tibetan community.

Tenzin Norsang of phayul.com said his joy knew no bound when he shook hands with the Prince of Wales.

YOTA will work towards helping the young Tibetans to start their enterprises and become self-reliant. The Prince met with all the five Tibetan youth entrepreneurs separately and spent time with them.

He will also be traveling to Jaipur and Mumbai.
