Delhi, October 28 – A Special Executive Magistrate ordered an interim bail without any sureties to 27 members of TYC who were remanded for judicial custody at Tihar Central Jail. These members were arrested in front of the Chinese Embassy on 24th October while staging demonstrations during the dinner reception hosted for the Chinese delegation led by its Senior Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo.
Late at night, all the arrested members were released from Tihar Central Jail. A small function organized at Tibetan Youth Hostel was attended by Mr. Penpa Tsering, Member of Tibetan Parliament-in-exile and executive director of Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Center (TPPRC), Mr. Choekyong Wangchuk, Coordinator of India-Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO), President of Delhi Local Tibetan Assembly and other members of different organizations based at Delhi.
While addressing a gathering, Vice President of TYC Tenzin Samphel appreciated all the members actively involved during the successive demonstrations on the visit of Chinese delegation. He further emphasized that, ‘no matter what the result comes out from these demonstrations, but our consistent struggle and to keep the issue of Tibet alive is more important and so far TYC struggle for complete independence of Tibet is truth, non-violence and democratically motivated’.
President of Delhi Local Tibetan Assembly on behalf of the Tibetan people appreciated TYC and its members involved in all the activities. He further assured that Delhi Tibetan people have full support for all the activities and will be present at once in the time of need.
The Chief guest of function, Mr. Penpa Tsering, Member of Tibetan Parliament-in-exile applauded the success of demonstrations during the visit of Chinese delegation at New Delhi. He further clarified the stands of Tibetan government-in-exile and Tibetan Youth Congress and the rights of younger generation in our struggle for independence is very significant and our struggle needs more political oriented activity.
With an active participation of members of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress Delhi, the Central Executive Committee of TYC led by its Vice President and Secretary International Relations Jamyang Choephel has taken responsibility of organizing demonstrations against the visit of Chinese Senior Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo and his delegations to India.
All the 27 members of TYC will have to appear in the court of Special Executive Magistrate on 31st October at 2 PM.
