New Delhi, October 23 – Nine members (male) of Tibetan Youth Congress was today sent to Tihar Central Jail and has been remanded to judicial custody till 27th October by Special Executive Magistrate, Police Station Parliament Street, New Delhi District.
15 members of Tibetan Youth Congress were arrested yesterday while protesting in front of Hotel Taj Palace against the visiting Chinese delegations led by its Senior Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo. Six arrested female members were released this morning without any sureties and bail bond. Nine of them were further remanded for Judicial Custody due to the pressure from senior authorities and precaution from another protest during the visiting Chinese delegations’ stay at New Delhi.
Later in the afternoon, members of TYC staged a demonstration from Jantar Mantar to Parliament Street trying to interrupt the talks on boundary issue that was holding at South Block of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
TYC determined to organize more activities to condemn the boundary talks in the coming days.
