Tibetan man released from prison in Serta

DHARAMSHALA, Sept 5: A Tibetan man named Samdup has reportedly been released from Chinese prison last month around August 20, according to Dharamshala based Tibetan NGO Gu-Chu-Sum.

Apart from the information that he was arrested on June 13, 2012 by local Chinese authorities on the suspicion of engaging in political activity, other details of his incarceration and on what charges are currently unavailable.

Samdup, aged 35, son of Sotgyal hails from Gonchuk region in Kardze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture’s Serta County located in Sichuan Province.
