DHARAMSHALA, June 29: A Tibetan man has reportedly died in police custody due to severe torture in Tibet’s Dege region, reported the Tibet Times.
Yudruk Nyima, aged around 40, was arrested by the police when he reached Rokhog village from his chore of collecting Yartsa Gunbu (Ophiocordyceps sinensis) around June 20.
The police accused him of being in possesion of a gun and took him to a detention center in Rakhog Village. Police say he died on his way to hospital in Dege County.
Born to father Yudruk and mother Godroe, Yudruk hails from Zsamkha division of Zakhog Village in Dege County.
