DHARAMSHALA, October 30: A Tibetan man was arrested following a solo protest he carried out on October 26 in Ngaba County where sources say Chinese government has cut off all communications to the outside world.
Tashi, a 31 year old Tibetan man from Meuruma division 5 of Ngaba County. Tashi held high above his head a portrait of the exiled Tibetan leader the Dalai Lama and shouted, “Freedom for Tibetans, return of the Dalai Lama.
Tashi was immediately arrested by security personnel on guard of the town that saw several solo protests by Tibetans including teenaged monks.
There is not much information on the Tibetans who were arrested last month for solo protests.
Tashi is the groom of Thaktatsang family of Meruma township in Ngaba. He lives with his wife Kalpe, two daughters and two sons.
