DHARAMSHALA, February 23: The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has topped the Watkins Spiritual 100 list for the fourth consecutive year.

The list features in the Spring issue of Watkin’s Mind, Body and Spirit Magazine, published from the United Kingdom, and available at major book stores around the world.

The Tibetan leader is followed by Pope Francis, German writer Eckhart Tolle, Vietnamese Spiritual Leader Thich Nhat Hanh, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, among others.

Watkin’s Spiritual 100 was first published by the magazine in 2011. The Tibetan leader had been listed second in the first ever Watkin’s Spiritual 100 but has been leading the list since 2012.

The magazine on its website says they aim to celebrate the world’s living spiritual teachers. “As you read through this list, we hope that you are as inspired as we are by each individual’s significant impact.”

The Watkin’s Spiritual 100 list is derived from spiritual database of over six hundred candidates from around the world.

The top 100 highlights the most proactive individuals ranging from political and religious leaders to writers, filmmakers and artists.

One of the criterion for a person to be featured in the list is frequency of being googled, appearance in Nielsen Data, and general presence on the Internet.
