DHARAMSHALA, December 19: The Tibetan Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay is in Goa to attend the India Ideas Conclave, 2014, starting today. The Harvard educated Tibetan PM has been invited to speak alongside other international personalities including spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, former Prime Minister of Slovenia Alojz Peterele, former Prime Minister of Bhutan Dasho Jigmi Y Thinley and former Prime Minister of Netherlands Ruud Lubbers and former Prime Minister of Jordan Abdelsalam Al-Majali.
Other prominent personalities from within India speaking at the conclave are Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman; Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, senior BJP leaders Subramanian Swamy and M J Akbar.
The Tibetan PM will be speaking on “Enduring Peace in South Asia” on Saturday.
Themed ‘Integral Human Development’, India Ideas Conclave, 2014 in Goa is being organized by the India Foundation, an independent research centre on Indian polity, and the state government of Goa.
The Conclave will bring together brilliant minds across disciplines that impact human affairs. More than 70 eminent scholars and thinkers will address a select group of over 400 participants that include eminent academics, global CEOs, renowned scientists, technologists, senior political thinkers and practitioners and media luminaries.
The three-day conclave, starting today, has several sub-themes on which lectures, panel discussions and symposia will be held. “They include Role of politics in integral development, Connecting the continents on shared values, Dialogue between civilisations, Role of business in integral development, Role of faith leaders in imparting values and Environment & humanism. The Conclave will host critical keynote lectures, high-octane debates, dynamic panel discussions, informed seminars and enlightening book discussions and releases,” reads the website of India Foundation.
